A Full Week In Linden!

Image
Dear friends and family, This is my full week in linden and it was an adventure! I have met a lot of amazing people and they are prepared to receive the gospel. I also met with the members and they are super strong in the gospel. They are very humble and willing to share the gospel with everyone! A highlight this week was when we went teaching with a member family named the Emmanules. They have a wonderful testimony and they shared it with our person on date, Eon. Eon is a wonderful kid that has the desire to be baptized and he is preparing himself very well. The Emmmanules came with us to a less active family who stopped coming because of beef they have with someone in the branch. The Emmmanules bore with their souls their testimony about forgiveness and we ended with planning to have them and president come over and visit them. The Spiritual thought this week comes from my personal study this morning. I read Alma Chapter 50 and it talks about how Captain Moroni was fortifying the Nep...

Transfers!

Image
Dear Friends and Family, Good day everybody! I am officially not in Rose Hall! I got Transferred to the Georgetown zone in Linden. Linden is the farthest place in Guyana, it boards the jungle, which is super sweet!  These past couple of days have been great. I got to say goodbye to my friends and members in Rose Hall and I was super sad to leave them. They are great people and I hope to see many of them in the future! Next, came transfer day. We drove over the Berbice bridge and headed to Georgetown. Every Elder was at the Georgetown apartment. My new companion, Elder Sheffer, is fantastic! We talked about our hobbies and why we came on a mission. He is from Phoenix, Arizona. We get to linden and the first day was just me settling in. The neighborhood and apartment are amazing. The next day, I got sick! I had stomach pain for the whole day so me and Elder Sheffer had to do our appointments over phone. Saturday was way better though. I got feeling better and We were biking arou...

Transfers!!!

Dear friends and Family, This week flew by so fast! We found out transfers this past Saturday... I'm leaving Rose Hall! That is correct, I'm leaving beautiful Berbice and heading into Georgetown. Well... Not actual Georgetown, pass Georgetown, on the other side in the jungle. A humble place called Linden. But it is in the Georgetown zone, so basically Georgetown. My companion Is going to be Elder Sheffer. He is from Phoenix, Arizona and I met him a few times when I went to Georgetown. He is a cool guy and he can play guitar and sing! I can sing too, just not as good, lol. I'm going to leave on Thursday so I have some time to say goodbye to my friends in rose hall. I'm going to miss this place, so many memories. To end, I will like to share my favorite Scripture in the Book of Mormon. It's in 1 Nephi 3 and its verse 7: "And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord give...

The ... Doctor! And Zone Conference

Image
Dear family and friends, This week has been fast paced and crazy! To get into it, my amazing comp Elder Patterson had to go to the doctor because his toe was hurting. We go Wednesday to New Amsterdam to the doc and find out that he got an infection in his big toe! So we had to come back Saturday and get surgery done.  Another thing that made this week crazy was zone conference! We traveled on the Berbice Battle Bus with the Boys and got to go to the giftland mall in Georgetown. We spent the night in the Guyana mission office and played uno flip! I was introduced to this version of uno on the mission and It is super fun, up there with original uno. We learned big stuff in zone conference and ate some epic food! I learned that it's important for us missionaries to work with the leaders in our branches. The branches our so small and most of them rely on us to do everything sometimes, but President Lamprecht taught us that they have the Keys to direct the work here in the mission! We n...

Happy 2022! And A Fun Lesson Adventure

Image
Dear friends and family, Happy 2022! I'm happy and amazed that it is already 2022! Time really flies in the world. Also Happy Birthday to my amazing sister, Emily!  Anyways, This week was great, we celebrated new years and I got to call my awesome family! We had to be in early because there's people that tend to be crazy on new years eve..... It's alright though, Elder Patterson and I got to play some card games and talk with the other missionaries. Sunday came around and none of our friends came to church. But we were able to have a high turn out nevertheless. We taught some cool lessons. Story Time! One being the absolute highlight. We were finally able to get in contact with a woman named Crystal. She is related to a member so we have been trying to get in contact with for a long time. The holiday season rolls around and she's home! We created a game plan, we teach a powerful Restoration with our great friend, Kiefah. We come and see that she has some friends and fam...
