... Transfers!! (Que Star Wars Music)

Dear friends and family,

It has been another week in the Trinidad Port of Spain Mission! This week has been great for me, My companion and the other missionaries here in Guyana! I didn't get sick this week also so that was a huge two thumbs up. This email is going to be a little bit big because a lot has happened.

This week, we biked a lot and Elder Sheffer and I got to teach a lot of our friends. Kathleen, one of our friends, was taught by the missionaries for awhile and she finally is planning to be baptized! We have her baptism on the 30th! I'm super excited for her, she knows a lot of the Doctrine and all she really needs to do is come to church more often.

We were also Teaching our friend Arrol. Arrol is the uncle of one of our great members, Brother John. We have been teaching him for a couple of weeks now and we felt the spirit prompt us to put him on date for baptism. We followed the Prompting, and he's getting baptized on May the 7th.

We are teaching a new friend name Granny! Her actual name is Koolhani Ramroop and she is the Ramdeholls grandma. They call her Granny and we asked what she would like us to call her by and she told us Granny so we call her Granny as well . We set a date for her as well: May 7th (same as Arrol).

This past Saturday we found out Transfer news! It was crazy because it wasn't what I expected. First it Started by us in a lesson(all four of us missionaries at a members house) and Me and my companion get a call. It's from President Lamprecht! We step outside and Answered. He has called Me as District Leader. I accepted. He also Called Elder Sheffer as District Leader! There can only be one district leader for each district so that's when I knew Elder Sheffer is leaving. The Transfer Board drops like a care package in Call of Duty and we find the news.

I'm the new District leader for Linden! Elder Sheffer is leaving to lusignan to be the district leader over there, he will be more in Georgetown. Elder Larsen, the current District Leader is going back to berbice in Corriverton and Elder Morgan is staying. My new Companion will be Elder Robert's. Hes a awesome and guy and I flew in to Guyana with him so we know each other. Elder Morgan is going to be comps with my First Guyana companion, Elder Jenson, which is super awesome that we are in the same district again.

Spiritual thought: When President told me that I was going to be District Leader for Linden, I was excited yet anxious. I said yes and immediately thought, what did I just say? I never had a leadership assignment before and this is my first time. I have been pondering if I can really do it? Then I remembered a talk a years ago by Elder Stevenson. It was his first address as an apostle and it's titled "Plain and Percious truths". He recounted the moment President Monson called him as an Apostle and how he felt. President Monson gave him this council: "whom the lord calls, he qualifies". Since then, he has been an amazing apostle in the lords hands. The same words that President Monson said reassured me that I'm ready for this call. I can testify that the lord qualifies all of us for his work and if we rely on him, we can magnify are callings. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Love you all, I'm praying for all of you!

Sincerely,
Elder Franco
