District Conference!!
Dear friends and family!
It has been another week in the Trinidad port of Spain Mission and a lot has happened!
We started off this week with an exchange with the Zone Leaders. I went with Elder Forson in my area, Linden Mckenzie. We biked a lot that day and taught very good lessons. We were able to set two people on date: Ameena and Harry. They are very committed to being baptized and they made plans to help them reach their goal. One lesson I learned from the exchange is I can more bold. People in Guyana are some of the most boldest people on the planet so it's important to be bold with them when teaching. Also with an increase of love, can't forget that part.
Next, we finished teaching Kathleen the lessons so we were able to setup her baptismal interview with the Zone Leaders. She passed! Me and Elder Roberts were super happy. She is getting baptized this weekend.
The big highlight of the week was District Conference. Over 300 people came, which is exciting! Guyana is primed for a stake and I know if we be diligent and keep working, we will see the blessings come! It was also crazy because Elder Roberts got sick during the conference and I saw Elder Singh (now Anthony Singh) at the conference, he was my first zone leader when I got here in Guyana!
Spiritual thought: today's thought is about covenants and how they impower us against evil. There was a lot of talks given at the conference that talked about keeping covenants and building a covenant keeping people in Guyana. It reminded me of Elder Bednars latest talk: Heed them Not. This talk was amazing and I testify that covenants are powerful and we must have them in order to survive the storms of evil and to inspire us to better greater people. Covenants bind us with God so that we are Impowered with his spirit to "Heed them not!" I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Sincerely,
Elder Franco
