No Unhallowed Hand Can Stop The Work!
Dear friends and family!
Another week in Linden Guyana has come and gone! We are seeing a lot of progress in our area and I'm super excited to talk about it.
First I want to give everyone a quick update about phones in my mission. President Lamprecht has received direction from the mission department that we can no longer use personal phones and we needed to give them to President to hold on to them when we go home. So the phone that I will be using for now on is the area phone. I wanted to let you know because there might be days where I only have a limited time to call and such. Don't worry, I will still be Alive!
But coming back to my area, we have 5 people who are preparing to be baptized! It's super exciting and seeing their progression is a wonderful experience. Two of them are kids, Eon and Aqueema. They are so alive in the spirit and want to come closer to God! The other three are adults: Keoma, Paula, And Kathleen.
Keoma is struggling with a few bad habits but his grandma Paula and us are supporting him and he is making great progress. Paula was able to experience church for the first time yesterday and she really enjoyed it. Kathleen is someone who has been coming to the branches self reliance class and has wanted to be baptized! We were finally able to teach her and set a date for her to prepare. Wonderful things are happening here!
Spiritual thought: this past week was zone conference for us and one big thing that stood out to me was Sister Lamprecht training. She Trained about how we can help our friends be baptized and continue on in the gospel. She mentioned the Standard of Truth, which we say with our missionary purpose in the TPoS. It says: "Standard of Truth has been erected; no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done." Sister Lamprecht taught when we are doing the Lord's work, no unhallowed hand, which means Satan's attacks or our afflictions, can stop God's glory going to everyone. I testify that this is true in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
Sincerely,
Elder Franco
