Elder Franco And The Trenches!

Dear friends and family,

  It has been a CRAZY week here in Guyana and I'm ready to spend a year and two months here! So me and Elder Jenson have been working in the area a bit and founded some strong potential people who are interested in the gospel. the Branch here in Rose Hall and Port Mourant is big but still needs a lot of strong priesthood leadership in the Branch so we are working to build up the foundation. A lot of the members here are super nice and like to feed us a lot. there is this nice sister named Patsy and she makes great food, like SUPER great food! I had to take a lot of it home to the apartment because the portions of food in Guyana are massive, I was only able to finish half before I had to stop and take a moment haha.

  I think the craziest story though is on Wednesday when I feel in the trench. Before I go any further into detail, Mom, I'm okay and all of my things are okay, the trench wasn't deep. anyways, back to the juicy details, we were going on this bridge and then all of a sudden, Elder Jenson stopped right in front of me to talk to two guys fishing right next to us. I pulled on the breaks as hard as I can but it was already too late. My tire bumped on his tire which caused me and the bike to go into the trench. forgot to mention, there were no wooden guards on the side of the bridge, so if a willing soul wanted to jump off the bridge they could.

  I wasn't a willing soul LOL. the water wasn't deep, however, it was probably the dirtiest water you will probably see ( the color of the water is Brown). I was able to get out and all of my stuff was dry and safe. Elder Jenson felt bad, but I told him it was okay. we both laughed and rode into the sunset. Again, don't worry Mom, I took a very good shower.

overall it's been a good week and I felt the spirit so strongly in our lessons. I will just like to leave you with my personal testimony that I know that the restoration of the Jesus Christ gospel is true and that it's meant for everyone. I also testify that the book of Mormon is true and that Joesph Smith was a true prophet of God and had the priesthood! I humbly say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen!
